For science fiction and automotive enthusiasts, the fictional vehicle in the film “TRON: Legacy” is the pinnacle of future imagination. The motorcycle with hubless wheels and a body wrapped in glowing neon blue light strips seemed impossible to realize in the real world. However, the boundary between fiction and reality was shattered by the genius mechanics at Parker Brothers Customs, who successfully designed and built the world’s first functional, street-legal Tron Lightcycle replica.
Building this real Tron Lightcycle required high-level engineering skills and the courage to break away from conventional motorcycle manufacturing standards. One of the biggest challenges was developing a 22-inch hubless wheel system that could function stably and safely under the weight of the motorcycle and rider. The Parker Brothers team had to design custom bearings and a unique power transmission mechanism to drive the rear wheel without utilizing a traditional chain or axle.
In addition to the wheel system, the Parker Brothers Tron Lightcycle is equipped with a high-performance electric motor that provides instant acceleration without noise, aligning perfectly with the futuristic concept of the original film. Its body is constructed from lightweight fiberglass composites and covered with dynamic LED neon lights that glow brightly at night. The success of this project not only propelled Parker Brothers into the international automotive spotlight but also proved that the wildest human imaginations can be realized through precise engineering.
